Boston
The next city on our trip was Boston, Massachusetts. We travelled overnight from D.C. and had some delays, but finally arrived at our hostel around 11am on the Friday. We didn't have anything specific planned for the rest of the day so just ventured back into the city and did a bit of exploring. We had a look round some shops and even found a Primark! (After three months of being in America, this made me think of home!) We retired to the hostel quite early as we were tired from the journey.
On Saturday, we decided to do the Boston Freedom Trail, a walking trail around the city that takes you around historical sites from the Revolution including the Massachusetts State House, the site of the Boston Massacre and the Bunker Hill Monument. Even though I don't know much about American history, it was interesting to visit all these different sites and was a great way to explore the city.
On the Sunday, we took the subway to Cambridge, Massachusetts to visit Harvard University. The university was really nice and had lots of green space. Cambridge was also a really nice town, with lots of cute shops. Boston reminded me a lot of England in some areas, which I guess makes sense as the area is called New England. The rest of our Sunday was spent relaxing in the Boston Gardens.
